If you choose to spend a week volunteering with us, feel free to tell us what type of mission work you would prefer to participate in. Here are a few of the places you can impact. Check out our calendar to see which dates are still available, then contact us if you would like to volunteer!

Food Pantry

The local food pantry in Scott County is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am-2pm. Volunteers have many jobs here such as filling USDA or salvage bags, sorting through produce or freezer items, putting together carts for clients, carrying bags to clients' vehicles, entertaining the children who come to the pantry, or managing the front desk if necessary.

Construction Sites

There are plenty of construction projects to be done. We have constructed ramps, fixed roofs, installed handicapped bathrooms, worked on vinyl siding, etc.  These projects serve as great opportunities for the older generation to teach the younger ones what they have learned over the years.

Nursing Home

When the food pantry is closed, volunteers will use their mornings to visit those at Nova Health and Rehabilitation Center. They are able to talk with the residents while also playing bingo. Groups can even come up with their own activity if they choose.

Backyard Bible Club

Groups can choose to hold backyard bible school at an apartment complex or at the manor. There is a room inside that can be used for small groups, but there is plenty of room outside to put up tents and play games. Each day usually has a bible story, craft, game, music, and snack; however, that it up to the group. One group even ended the week with water day, which the kids really loved!
